Genki Japanese and Culture School was founded in 1988 and teaches Japanese to foreigners. The school opened a centre in Fukuoka in 2003, located in the city centre. Fukuoka is the largest city on the island of Kyushu in southern Japan. It is known for its ancient temples, beaches and street food, notably the yatai (food stalls) along the Naka River. Ohori Park, with its lake and traditional Japanese garden, is an iconic city landmark.
