Our courses selected by FIFPL

Our language courses have been selected by FIFPL. Flexible, they fit around the schedule of self-employed practitioners.

Who FIF-PL is for

FIF-PL is the training fund for French self-employed liberal professions, available to those up to date with their professional training contribution (CFP) and practising in their own practice or mixed status. Eligible groups include:

  • Medical and paramedical liberal professions: midwives, podiatrists, occupational therapists, self-employed nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, osteopaths, dieticians
  • Law and accounting professions: lawyers, self-employed chartered accountants, notaries, bailiffs (depending on the funding agreement in force)
  • Technical and built-environment professions: architects, surveyors, consulting engineers
  • Other regulated non-medical liberal professions

Self-employed doctors fall under the Agence nationale du DPC and FAF-PM rather than FIF-PL directly: we also support those files, please contact us to confirm the right funder for your exact status.

Which Linguaphone pathways are eligible

On the FIF-PL catalogue, our pathways are listed for the targeted professions (see list below). More broadly, all our pathways can be funded through FIF-PL when paired with a recognised certification (TOEIC, Linguaskill, CLOE, Le Robert, TEF, Goethe-Zertifikat, DELE, etc.):

  • Level Up in English, German, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, French as a foreign language, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese
  • SkillExpress 2 or 3 skills across the 9 languages
  • Individual coaching on business objectives (legal English for lawyers, medical English for clinicians, agency English for architects) across the 9 languages
  • Boost Your English, SkillPerfect and Atelier Express for English only

Available remotely, blended or in person at our Paris Bourse, Mulhouse and Dijon centres, plus our Levallois and Strasbourg outposts by appointment.

How it works in practice

FIF-PL is simpler than standard OPCOs because the self-employed practitioner files the request directly, but a few rules apply:

  1. Scoping: we agree on the right pathway for your activity (medical, legal, technical English) and the schedule.
  2. Submission on the FIF-PL catalogue, no later than 10 days after course start. Our team can guide you on the supporting documents.
  3. Review by FIF-PL: decision typically within 4 to 8 weeks depending on profession and time of year.
  4. Course start: you pay Linguaphone, FIF-PL reimburses you up to your annual professional cap.

Our funding engineering team checks your remaining annual cap upfront and helps you avoid common pitfalls (off-topic course, incomplete supporting documents).

Use cases

Lawyer at the Lyon bar preparing an international arbitration file in English: 30 hours of individual coaching in legal English, Linguaskill certification on exit, FIF-PL submission against the annual professional cap.

Self-employed midwife in Brittany based near an international marina, looking to consolidate her medical English for consultations: 30-hour Medical English pathway delivered remotely, funded under the FIF-PL midwives catalogue.

Architect partner in a Paris practice starting projects in Germany and Switzerland: Level Up business German plus project-presentation workshops, Goethe-Zertifikat certification, FIF-PL funding under the architects profession.
