In Faro, CIAL is located in the heart of the city, just minutes from the seafront. Faro is the capital of the Algarve, a region in southern Portugal. The Arco da Vila, in neoclassical style, stands on the site of a gate that once belonged to the original Moorish walls. This monumental arch leads to the old town and its cobbled streets. Faro Cathedral, built in the 13th century, is nearby. The Municipal Museum occupies a 16th-century convent. Beyond its architectural beauty, Faro offers a wide choice of restaurants, cafes, superb beaches and fine theatres.

Founded in 1959, CIAL is located in Lisbon, in a neighbourhood that is both residential and professional, near the magnificent Edward VII Park. Lisbon is one of the few European capitals to be a seaport. Phoenician merchants called it Alissubo, the 'Delightful Harbour'. Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and today symbolises its modernity. From the imposing Castle of Saint George (Castelo de São Jorge), the view embraces the pastel-toned buildings of the old town, the Tagus estuary and the 25 de Abril Bridge.
